International brand’s electric hatchback recognised for outstanding value

Raunheim, Germany, 22 September 2026 – The GEELY E2 has won the German Car of the Year (GCOTY) Value Award 2027. The all-electric hatchback was selected from 109 new models for model year 2027 as the vehicle offering the best value for money. The award from an independent German automotive jury represents significant recognition for Geely in Germany, one of Europe’s most established automotive markets and home to several major car manufacturers.

The GEELY E2 was already the world’s best-selling vehicle in the A/B segment in 2025. For Geely, however, the GCOTY Value Award represents more than simply another product accolade.

“It demonstrates that the GEELY E2 delivers high-quality, technologically advanced electric mobility at an accessible price,” said Aiden He, CEO of Geely Brand Europe. “The GEELY E2 has already established itself as a strong model worldwide. To now receive independent recognition in Germany for its value for money sends an important signal.”

More where it matters

The GEELY E2 expands the brand’s line-up with a fully electric model in the B-segment. At 4,135mm long, it combines compact exterior dimensions with a spacious interior, offering seating for five and 375 litres of boot space. With the rear seats folded, capacity increases to 1,320 litres. There is also 28 litres of additional storage space beneath the floor, together with a 70-litre front boot, or ‘frunk’.

The GEELY E2 also delivers a strong focus on safety. Under the more stringent Euro NCAP testing protocol introduced in January 2026, the model achieved the maximum five-star rating.

“The GEELY E2 combines this high level of safety with an attractive starting price, generous standard equipment and technologies that have traditionally been associated with vehicles from higher segments,” said He.

The GEELY E2 is available in Europe through authorised Geely dealers and is offered in three specifications: Pro, Max and Ultra. The Pro version features a 35.35kWh battery and a 60kW (82hp) electric motor, with a range of 252 kilometres.

Growing across Europe

Geely Auto is one of the world’s fastest-growing car brands. During the first half of 2026, the company sold 1,100,373 vehicles. These sales accounted for 77% of Geely Auto Group’s revenue and 57% of Geely Holding’s revenue.

The GCOTY award represents another important milestone in Geely’s continued expansion across Europe.
